Elegant Efficiency
Who says an elegant home cannot be built using greener alternatives?
One Vista couple proves that elegance and efficiency can work together. The house, built by Kimmel Construction Enterprises, Inc., boasts a number of indoor and outdoor features which make this a more eco-friendly environment.
Indoor Features include:
- Photovoltaic Array for Solar Electricity
- SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) Construction
- Insta-hot recirculation system
- Energy efficient (Energy Star) appliances
- Low voltage lighting
- Dual pane, low-e windows
- Natural lighting
- Farmed woods
- Natural stone
Outdoor Features include:
- A beautiful bio-filtered pond, waterfall and stream
- Lot design to retain property’s original large, mature trees
- Friendly habitat for birds and butterflies accomplished through vegetation
- No use of pesticides on property
- Use of drip irrigation
- Efficient storm water management
Native guests to the wildlife friendly habitat have included a red-eared, pond-slider turtle, a heron, hawks, ducks, rabbits, frogs and a variety of local birds and butterflies.
The owners have quickly found that just as native wildlife enjoys the back yard, so are friends and relatives eager to visit. The sanctuary-like atmosphere has been created through features such as a steam room, cozy reading spaces and numerous separate patio areas.

Kare for Kids Fund
At Vista Community Clinic we have one promise - "never turn away a sick or injured child." Through the Kare for Kids Fund we can fulfill that promise and provide medical attention to over 11,000 children each year. These children come from the working poor whose families earn too much to qualify for public assistance but too little to afford private insurance. These are the children that fall through the cracks and who desperately need our help - and yours.
