Meet Erika Candela . . .
My name is Erika Candela and I am 16 years old. I am a teenage girl on the road to be an educated and successful woman later in life. Right now, I am attending Rancho Buena Vista High also known as RBV. In my family I have my parents, my mom and dad, a younger sister name Nancy who is 14 and in which I live with. I also have an older sister named Claudia who is 25 and who is married to my brother-in-law Francisco who is 29 and they have a baby girl named Zareth who is 2 and they also have a 6 year old boy named Jr.

My friend named Jennifer and another girl told me about REACH. That I can help there with my problems from school and home. There I get help with my homework and I have Internet access. I have been coming to REACH for about 5 to 6 months. My favorite part of REACH is art day and when we play games as groups that everybody can enjoy.

The change that I have made in my life by attending REACH is that I started focusing more on me. Resolving my problems first and that it is okay to be selfish when it comes to my life. One of the most memorable trips that I have participated in is when we went to Chicano Park. I also wanted to go to Chicano Park for the longest time because I wanted to see what other people think about our culture and the important events that have happened to us in the past. (go back)
